Boot Disk Failure

Hi. I just put together a new PC. After installing windows and restarting WITHOUT the disk in, i get "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER" but with it in it just boots in xp...Here are the parts:

Radeon 9800SE
Intel Celeron D Prescott 331
Foxconn661FX7MI
1 GIG stick of ram
80 GB HD
Aspire X-Qpack

your pc is booting from CD with Windows XP?

Seems like someone else just reported the same problem. Is this an oem, retail or copy of XP? Is it Home, Pro or Media Center?
