smokin Another noob problem HELP!!

This is the second PC i have biult and i am having a problem. I spent three days trying to find out why my system weasnt working and the problem was that mobo only supported the Pentium D 8xx processors, not my Pentium D 930. Becasuse the 9xx series has a 4 mb (2x2) cache.

I am looking for a mobo that will support my Pentium D 930, it must have atleast one PCI Express x16 slot, support SATA HDs, and support my 2x512mb Geil DDR2 memory.

The only one i have found is the Intel D975XBX, but i am loking for somethign a little bit cheeper than $200

Please help me ASAP!!!!

Thanks,
~Brad~

Asus P5LD2, as long as it ships with an updated bios. Asus P5WD2 if you want to pay more.

From what i have learned none neither of those motherboards come with the updated BIOS, you have to buy a different socket 775 processor and flash the mobo with the new bios.

I need a momo that supports a 9xx series 65nm Processor from the box.

Why don't you just contact Asus? They will ship you an updated bios chip for your VM if you ask nicely.
