I have been having trouble booting my new comp. Everythings installed but when i turn it on i hear no beep and no video is being sent to the moniter. everything is getting power but it wont go to bios or anything. any suggestions?
ASUS A8N-SLI Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard HIPER HPU-4S580-MS ATX12V 580W Power Supply AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Toledo 2000MHz HT Socket 939 Dual Core Processor Model ADA4800CDBOX eVGA 512-P2-N575-AX Geforce 7900GTX 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card (2X)CORSAIR XMS 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered System Memory Model CMX1024-3200C2PRO After doing the test where i take everything out of the case and put the mobo on non- conductive surface ect.. all the fans started and leds on the mobo turned on but there were no beeps and nothing was sent to the display. Also, my ram has leds on it and they turned orange and then shut off (mabie that has something to do with it) Last edited by jer888; 06-13-2006 at 06:50 PM. |

solved
I solved this issue for myself. the 12V atx power cable was not connected to the mobo. Now I get no beeps and the comp enters BIOS just fine.
Check to see if this is the case for yourself. Good luck. |

hmm see i'm getting the same problem so i plugged in the 12v and it worked fine, this was before i read this. It booted up but then i got an error saying something about an error with cmos, so i removed a stick of ram and tried again, still an error, so i removed another stick of ram and error went away. this is also before i read this.
I have -160 gig -300 gig -120 gig -500 watt power supply -ABIT AN8 32X Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16 ATX AMD -vga geforce 7600 -1.5 gig of ram - 2 twin sticks of 512 kingston and 1 other random stick all pc 3200 400 hz i believe. -Audigy 2 zs -amd 3500+ 64 bit SO what happened after i took the two sticks of ram out was i encountered a corruption of my windows...which sucked but i formatted fine, was able to shut down fine and such. i reinstalled windows and everything was hunky dory, i updated my drivers and i was ready to rock. SO i proceeded to put the other two sticks of ram to see if the kinks had been worked out but then i got this no boot not beeps nothing on screen. so i took out the two sticks of ram i just put in and booted again figuring that maybe the two sticks weren't compatiable(not sure how that would be seeing as though i have twin sticks of ram) anyway it didn't work and now i'm stuck with the same issue. Theres a jumper for clearing out the memory that i found on my motherboard, i tried doing that but it didn't work either. i took everything but the processor out and put it back in seeing if maybe that would help but no dice. I'm stumped, the mother board, graphics card, and processor are brand new out of the box. OH and i tried another stick of ram from another computer to see if my ram was bad, but that one didn't work either. So i'm pretty sure the ram isn't bad. Any ideas? i checked the board to see if it was touching any random spots on the back of the case cause i saw someone mention something about the board shorting out. So i took off the back and tried booting but alas no dice.
I litereally can't think of anything else to do? should i just send it back to newegg as a faulty motherboard? |

so you're guessing its a faulty component? Its not a build issue, it was working fine then i added more ram and it stopped working took the ram out that cause it not to work and it still didn't work. So i took out all the components and built the computer again?
