so im building a new computer and on the power supply there is a 10 pin plug... on the mother board theres one with 14 pleeez tell me i dont have to spend more money on a newer power supply...input?...nop wait i think its 20 and 24 pins

you can get a 20 pin to 24 pin adapter from newegg for about 3-4 bucks but just go to your local dealer to get one.

That is not advised, ammo. You need an ATX 2.0 spec unit for a 24 pin motherboard. Adapters on ATX 1.x spec 20 pin units don't provide enough +12 volts to power everything unless the old power supply is a real powerhouse. Intel requires a minimum of a 450 watt power supply to use an adapter on their 24 pin boards, even with onboard video instead of a video card.
