Building a New Comp. Need some guidance =]

My brother has asked me to build a new computer for him, around 800 dollars, w/o monitor, keyboard, etc. What he really just wants to do is just get wireless internet, and be able to recieve from far ranges. I have no idea what i should do about that. So far i picked out the following parts:

Dvd burner: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106013
Floppy Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16821103203
Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148113
Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131013
Video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814145125
Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227029
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/product/Produc...82E16819103633

Which PSU should i get for a system like this? And is there anything else that im missing?

Thanks

First thing to establish is whether he wants this as a gaming system, if so then you'll need to invest more in the video card. If gaming isn't a priority then the card you picked should be ok.

I'd definitely question the need for that expensive motherboard though - high speed SLI support is something only required for the top gaming systems. Save $50 by dropping to this motherboard:

Whichever board you choose, find the exact model on the manufacturers' website and check what memory has been certfified for use. The new AM2 platform can be very picky.

Your other parts look fine, except you're missing a case. I'd recommend the Antec Sonata II - great case and comes with a quality 450w power supply that should be ample for the parts you picked out.

Regarding the Wireless Internet aspect, what kind of "far ranges" are we talking about. Does he have a wireless router at his home?

Umm, my brother is picky with the case and is getting a transparents one : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811148001

So i still need to get a good and reliable PSU.

As for the wireless internet, what do i do?

That's not really going to be feasible with standard Wi-fi. Modern wireless routers will transmit a wireless signal around a decent sized house very well, but we're not talking huge distances here. Without knowing the source of the wireless signal he wants to connect to, it's going to be difficult to advise.

All I can suggest is including a wireless PCI card in the build.

Where is he trying to receive from?
I hope he knows he still needs a service provider and a wireless router.. a wireless card isn't going to let him magically connect to the internet :x

He needs to get permission from the guys next door to do that - and we can't advise you unless he has that permission.

There's still not much more you can do than buy a wireless adaptor like the one I linked to, and see if it picks up a signal when you get the PC on site.

At least that Linksys card has a detachable antenna that can be replaced with a high gain directional antenna if necessary.
