Adding PCI Express, which Quartz do I need?
My computer came with two PCI slots and a space for a PCI E. It has the solder points on the board for the quarts crystal ocillator, the plastic slot for the video card, and capasitors. I've already bought the plastic slot connector. So i just need to find out what kind of ocillator i need and what kind of capasitors. The System BIOS also already has the capability to talk to PCI E but im assuming i need to update the roms to be able to. Basiclly my questions are
~How do i tell if my ROMS are right and how do i update them? ~What kind of Quartz Ocillator do i need? ~What kind of Capasitor/s do i need? Any infomation will be greatly appreciated. eMachines T5010 Pent 4 2.93 GHZ |

The only place you may get an answer on that is a hardcore modders forum. It would be a lot easier just to replace your motherboard with one that fits, has the same chipset or close to it, and already has a PCI-E slot. You have to remember that you are dealing with a multilayer circuit board, and soldering on one of those is not something an amateur should try.

i work with electronics alot, so im not an amateur about it. Just not with computer motherboards. Where would you suggest for a "hardcore modder" page?
