Help With computer setup please

im building a computer specs are:
  • amd x2 socket 939 4200+
  • XFX PV-T71F-YDF9 GeForce 7900 GTX (665MHz) 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card
  • 2 GB OCZ Performance ram (2 x 1gb)
  • sound blaster audigy sound card
  • Seagate Barracuda Harddrive

now im not sure which motherboard to get... i bought the ASUS A8N-SLI Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
, now it says on the site that it supports dual core processors but when i got the box i noticed the box didnt say it supported it. when we plugged everything in none of the power would turn on everything was plugged in correctly.

now the mobo is an open box item so im not sure if it was just a faulty mobo or if it just wasnt compatible. if it isnt compatible with the mobo can anybody please suggest a good mobo that supports x2 processors and SLI?

Yes it does support X2 processors so it's not a compatibility problem.

that's the only Antec psu I wouldn't recommend (not that it's totally bad or anything). Did the fans in the case come on? If they didn't and they are just hooked up to the psu then it is the psu. Did you go over everything and make sure every cable is hooked up including the power supply cable to the mobo, and the switch in the back of the psu is turned on?

Also one guy that came to me for help had a switch in his office that turned the power to the outlet on and off and he had it turned off. He paid me 50 bucks to come over and all I had to do was turn the light switch on to fix his PC lol

Are you using a hard drive that already has Windows on it from another system?
