$600 budget on 1st build

Hey,

i need help, i cant find any parts that are compatable for my first build. Can someone give a lineup of parts that are compatable with each other. I would use the PC for internet, music, DVDs, and a little bit of gaming. The only preferance i have is an SATA hard drive.other than that i am flexible. Would like to build for $600 or less if possible.

All new motherboards support SATA hard drives.

Thanks for the info cricket. By looking at the page you reccomended i stumpled across this page http://arstechnica.com/guides/buyer/...ide-200602.ars and i would like a reccomondation for a PC case and would appreciate someone telling me if the products would run smoothly for internet, movies, and a couple games. if there is anything else other than what is posted on the page that i would need or could use please tell me.
