Problems with Power Switch on New Computer

Hi, I'm building my first computer, ordered the parts from TigerDirect.com, and I'm pretty new at this stuff, all I've done before is upgrade RAM and a video card (I probably should have ordered from newegg, but a friend had ordered from tigerdirect before). I've constructed it all, plugged everything in (at least so I think) to the power supply, but when I went to turn on the computer, nothing happened. The motherboard light lit up and the fan in the power supply started then stopped suddenly, but other than that, nothing.

I unplugged and replugged everything from the power supply, checked it, didn't find anything. Then I figured it might be a problem with the switch, so I went to tighten the connectors on the motherboard which control the power and restarts switches/LEDs. However, I accidentally unplugged them and, consequently, they fell apart. Now I have no idea where to plug which one into (the switches and LEDs each have a seperate connector), except into the IEEE Header 1394. Is there anyway to get a schematic or diagram showing where to plug each seperate connector into? The motherboard is an Intel D975XBXLKR Socket 775.

Also, what could be the problem causing my computer to fail to start? Could it have been the power switch or could it have been a damaged part? Would my router having shorted out while my computer was unplugged (but connected by ethernet cable to the router) have caused any damage?

More specs please (like power supply brand and rating).

Intel should have provided a manual that has the pin diagram that you need to match plugs up.

If you know what two pins are for the switch you could short the two pins together momentarily to get the PC going for testing purposes. Speaking of which, let's try this first:

It's an Ultra power supply, 600W. Since, stupidly as I've been told, I bought a barebone kit (motherboard, case, and PSU), there was no manual for the motherboard, and it was already attached. However, I have managed to find the pin assignment on Intel's web site, but I think that even after putting those back into place, I may not be able to start the system. If not, what are any possible solutions? I will try the one that was linked to, and I had seen that before, but it seems someone else with a similar problem tried that and it didn't work. Also, I can't try it right now as I am at a different location than my frustrating project of a computer.

This it? What video card?

First try the out-of-case build. If the motherboard was already installed it could have shifted during transit and could be shorting out with the case.
