help with PSU connections

OK, I've got my new PSU and want to connect it the best way. It came with two main wires with three molex and one floppy connector on each. It has two SATA wires which I won't use. It also has the 20+4 pin. I believe my board, Gigabyte 667 Ultra uses the twenty pin connection. Just leave the other one hanging? How should I hook up two lines with all the molex connectors or does it matter. I have; 1 Sony Dual layer DVD drive, 1 Lite-on CD RW drive, floppy, 1 WD 80 gb hard drive (may add another), four case fans, but I think three are hooked to the motherboard, and a ATI 9700 Pro video card.
The PSU is the E-Power 500W with 12V rail @ 28 amps. Thanks for the help.

If the mother board is 20 pin then the 4pin would be used for the 4pin connector on the mother board(someplace close to the CPU. As for the other power connectors: one sting for the optics and one for the HD and floppy if there is one. Fans should be kept off of the of the HD string.

If it's a 20+4 main plug, you would leave the other 4 snap-on plug hanging. Those don't go anywhere else. Use the seperate (yellow and black usually) 2x2 plug for over by the CPU.

I would keep the hard drive string by itself as flanzig said...does the 9700 require a power plugin? Use the other two molexes (other chain) for the opticals and daisy chain the drives off the spare. Put the floppy on whatever chain is easiest to hook up, depending on the configuration.

It has the white plastic square plug that I assumed was for the cpu.The main board power is twenty pin with the four pin that clips to it. I figured that was for a mainboard that required a twenty-four pin connector, seeing as how there also is that white plug.

So you're saying the HDD is to be put on one of the strings and nothing else on it? That leaves two unused molex connectors. I would also have to put floppy, two opiticle drives, video card and at least one fan on the other line. The 9700 Pro requires a molex connector. There is only three molex plugs on each wire. Again, there's two wire bundles that have a floppy plug, and three molex plugs on each one. Two SATA plugs, and the motherboard power plug 20+4, and the white square plug for the Intel P4.

You can put the opticals on the same chain as the hard drive. Put the video card, floppy, and fans on the other one.
