My system was working fine for an Year and then suddenly dont know what happened but it is giving me a lot of trouble these days.. The first problem is My system suddenly hangs . It completely freezes and even ctrl+alt+del dosent work, I have to poweroff and on again, i tried changing the powersupply, I checked the RAM, checked the hdd for errors, spyware ... but still the problem persists . Is there anything I missed checking ??? I am starting to belive motherboard could be the problem ??? ANy Ideas ???

Also there is an other problem My system dosent start even after i switch on the power button, strangely the fans are running but monitor will not wake up. This happens to me a couple of times during the day.. Starting the system has become an headache for me ...and if chance my pc starts .. the first problem attacks .. but once the system becomes stable it works fine until I shutdown it....

what could be the problem ??

What power supply (brand and wattage)? If it's an el cheapo, that could very well be your problem. Also, what video card (a powerful cards needs a hefty power supply)?

I am using Iball SMPS 400w.. previously i had Mercury changed to Zebronics and then now to Iball. and abt the video card, I am using the onboard one ( Intel Xtreme Graphics 2 ).

I am planning to buy XFX 6800 XT 256Mb AGP 8x video card.

Those brands of PSUs are not sold in the US, so not sure about the quailty. From Zebronics web site, looks like these products are sold only in the far East/India.

Pull the motherboard from the case and follow these troubleshooting instructions. Let us know what happens.

Check the capacitors on the motherboard for bulging or leaking.

Yes I am from India. I did everything in that trouble shooting instructions. I did that last week itself. I will now check the motherboard for faulty capacitors.. Could my onboard graphic card be the culprit for my second problem..
