my 1st build.
i just completed my first build today and everything seems to have gone off without a hitch. when i boot it up all the fans/lights come on, and everything seems to be in order with the exception of one thing....i plugged in the mor which runnitos through an adaptor into my xfx geforce 7800 and there is no picture on the monitor. i have tried taking the card out and putting it back into its slot with no result the fan on the card runs when i boot up i dont know why the image is not appearing anybody have any ideas? anything would be great thanks.

Is the six pin power plugged into the vid card? Are all mobo power cables in place?

yes all of the mobo power cables i checked and are in place. i was wrong about the graphics card i said earlier it is actually an VGA XFX 7600GT. i dont see any thing that plugs in on the acutal graphics card itself

Follow the instructions in this thread to troubleshoot a no video issue.
http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=132409 Lower end PCI-E cards often do not require a dedicated power connector, and I don't see a slot for one on the newegg pictures. In addition to the steps in the linked thread, make sure you have BOTH the 24 pin main power connector AND the 2x2 Auxiliary connector plugged into the motherboard. It would also help if you posted your complete system specs, including brand and wattage of your power supply. FK

That card doesn't have a power connector on it. What brand model and wattage is your power supply? Did you plug in the square 2x2 auxillary power connector near the processor? Edit: Yup, what Freakitchen said, he types faster than me.
