First off, I dont know anything about building a pc, but i do know how to read so it shouldnt be too hard to figure out. Second, I got a list of products off of Newegg.com but i dont know anything about them or if they will even work with each other. Im trying to stay between $700 and $900. The pc doesnt have to be top of the line just somewhere in the middle. I would greatly appreciate anybodys suggestions or ideas on this. Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me.

Bad power supply, network adapter not needed as the motherboard has one onboard. You don't need a CD burner, the DVD burner burns CD's.
You would be much better off getting a PCI-E board and video card - socket 939. |

If your going with a ATI vid card you can drop the SLI motherboard. I suggest the asus A8N5X its about half the price of the one you have selected. Also change the video card to the pci-e version agp is about dead.

Here is a much better power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103931
I would switch to a Western Digital or Seagate harddrives, Hitachi's not the best quality. No need for an SLI motherboard if you don't plan to use SLI. The Asus A8N5X that Planenutok suggested is an excellent choice. |

Here's a video cards with faster RAM:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130020 Going from 512MB to 256MB won't hurt anything, if anything, the faster memory will help. Here's a silent one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125028 (this one even has a faster core speed).

Actually I'd rather see you get a Hitachi over a Maxtor. Neither one is my favorite.
You DO know that a single 7900 will perform better than a pair of 7600's in SLI - why are you spending the premium price for a SLI board and power supply if you are on a budget? If you are trying to build a gamer, save where you can but put your money where it does the most good. |

Here is an equivalent Western Digital hard drive, only $2 more: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136010
I would reconsider the SLI board. Using an Asus A8N5X and a 7900GT will be a very impressive gaming machine. |

How about that Western Digital Alaron suggested above? Seagate's are also good. Alaron, isn't that the Raid Edition drive? Not sure if that makes a difference.
There's an SE16 drive with similar specs - it's running on my system now and it seems pretty good. |

Its hard to say what a computer that you build will cost in a store. You have a good rig picked out that should handle just about everything you throw at it and its fully customized to suit your needs.
Also on your list be sure to add the Operating System. |

A Raid Edition drive does not have to used in a raid setup. It will function on its own just as well as the SE16s. But since the KS that jay linked to is cheaper after rebate, I'd go with that.

The RAID edition drives can be a bit slower than standard drives in a standalone installation. It's kinda like the difference between standard and ECC ram.

Thanks glc. In that case, and the couple bucks, go with the KS in jay's link.

One last question, I was told that an 80mm fan will move the same amount of air as a 120mm but it makes more noise. Is this true? If so, which case can i get around the same price range or little bit higher with a 120mm fan on it that is compatable with what Ive got? Or does it even matter? Preferably with window and neon!! Thnx in advance for any suggestions you may have. Heres what I got!!
