Talking 64 Bit Celeron?

Hello! I really want to build my own computer. Since this will be my first build, I want to keep things very, very cheap, but still have some room for upgrading down the road.

When searching for the cheapest Celeron D 775, I found this. It's a 64-bit celeron (i didnt even know they existed).

Does this mean I need a special MoBo? Or do I need XP 64-bit edition?

Thanks a lot

Nope - any motherboard that supports that processor will be fine, and you do not need a 64 bit OS. All you have to decide is - do you want onboard video for now, and if so, do you want your upgrade path to be AGP or PCI-E? Doing it AGP will be cheaper to begin with - motherboards are cheaper and so are 20 pin power supplies. PCI-E requires 24 pin.

Look at the Asus P5P800-VM for a socket 775 board with onboard video and an AGP slot.

Great! Yeh, I'll stay with onboard for a little, then upgrade to AGP once I have enough money. I was actually just looking at that Asus board you told me about. I'm totally going with that one.

Thanks a lot for your help!
