Can you be a little more specific with your requirements as in, what you do want to use this machine for and your budget?

What I would do is grab a monitor now, and then hold off on the computer itself until the end of the month when Intels new Core 2s come out. $1,300 is a very resonable budget for a solid gaming computer. A good 17" LCD monitor (what I assume you will probobly want) will run somewhere around $200.
