First computer build...

This is my first computer build and I currently cant get windows to install. When booting off the cd it successfully loads all files required to run the windows install program but when it tries to run the install program my computer restarts. I think that I might have shorted out the motherboard since at first I attached it straight to the metal plate when first powering it up but unlike most people that have shorted out their boards mine actually runs and I can go through bios and stuff. I have no idea what I should do. Could anyone please help?

Specs:
939SLI32-eSATA2 Asrock motherboard
200gb Maxtor SATA hard drive
1gb Wintec DDR400 memory
AMD Athlon 64 3200

What power supply are you using? What are the temperatures reported in the BIOS?

I know I shouldnt be using this power supply but its a 450w that came with the case. The temperatures were around 93-97 degrees F on the cpu and 83-89 degrees F on the motherboard.

What case?

The PSU may well be the problem...

Its a Super Talent CA-ST834SV Computer Case.

Aside from the blank Maxtor drive that I have in the computer I also tried the hard drive that is currently in this computer and it restarted when the drive tried to run windows.
