Ok, so this wiring is driving me up a wall. Here's how things play out. Off of the power supply, there are 2 sets of peripheral connectors, each set containing 2 peripheral FEMALE connectors. One set will be taken up by my Dvd-rom and DVD writer. The other set however is what i'm curious about.
I know one female connector from this set goes to my HD. My fan, below my powersupply, has a black and red wire that goes to a male, 4-wire, peripheral connector. THAT connector then has a 4-wire, female connector coming off of it. My Power LED has 2 wires that go to a male peripheral connector. NOW MY QUESTION: Will it work if i connect the Male connector from my power LED to the female connector that comes off of the fan's male connector. And connect the fan's male connector to one of the female peripherals from the power supply, leaving the 1 female connector from the psu free to go to my HD? |

Can you tell us what case and motherboard you are using?
What power LED are you talking about, the one on the front of the case?

What hard drive do you have? If it's SATA you can use the SATA power cables.
By Power LED, do you just mean decerative LEDs? Yikes, too many males and females. With the fans and LEDs you can do what's called daisy chaining. Plug the fan into one of the PSU feeds. Plug the LED into the plug coming off the fan (same gender as the PSU plug).

It is a Rosewill TU-155 Case with a MSI 661FM2-LSR motherboard.
Daisy chaining? |

I think you need a better power supply with a the correct kind of connectors to do the job. The cheaper brands skimp on the length and number of connectors and cause problems like you are now having.
