finished new pc

hello finished building my computer. i started the system and mainly used the default bios settings but changed the boot order. the installation of windows xp pro went fine. when i got to the desktop i then checked the device manager in the control panel and everything appeared to be working properly. however, when i put in my motherboard cd the system hung and i got a blue screen error stating i should disable cache or shadowing in bios. i couldnt find that in the bios so i just powered off the computer and restarted to try loading the motherboard cd again. this time, all the drivers installed successfully from the cd. I also installed adobe photoshop, cakewalk fruityloops and xp service pack 1 without any problems and i am currently browsing the net just fine. I just would like to know what this cache/shadowing error meant and i also was wondering what programs i coudl dload to test my pc to ensure that my pc is running efficiently. Thanks

You should probably update the bios - to run a dual core on an 865 chipset requires the latest to work right.
