splat Searching For Ide Drives . . .

I Resently Started To Build Computers For Me And My Friends. This Computer That Im Having Trouble With Starts The Bios Post, Checks Memory Ok, Then Gets Really Slow When It Is Searching System For Ide Drives . . . It Will Not Continue. I Don't Get Any Bips Replased Cables On All Drives, Checked Power Lines And Nothing. This Is The First Time I Get This Message And I Run Out Of Options As I See It Can I Get Some Pointers From The Experts ?

Thank You.

Make sure that the drives are jumpered correctly and the cables are attached securely at both ends. I have worked with some computers where if you have a single HDD, you have to jumper it as single. Otherwise set them to CS (Cable Select) or Master and Slave, whatever you prefer to work with I guess.

Have you also tried another IDE or SATA cable? If your working with SATA, don't worry about setting the jumpers.

What is the setup of the system?
