HUGE question for PC genii out there...

To begin, I want to build my own PC and edit stutterless intermediate HDV footage with Vegas 6.0 for under $1,500. I've compiled the following wishlist and am relatively unknowledgable regarding PC building. I'd like to know if the following items are all compatible and if I'm missing anything at all because I'm kinda going on my own instincts here. I'd really appreciate the help and support for a poor fool.

But here goes:

-ASPIRE MX-PLEASURE-BK Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case ATX 500W dual fan w/ automatic fan speed control

-ASUS A8N5X Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX AMD Motherboard (w/ Connector 20 + 4 pin Power Supply)

-eVGA 256-P2-N554-AX Geforce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card

-AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Toledo 2000MHz HT Socket 939 Dual Core Processor

-G.SKILL Extreme Series 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 500 (PC 4000) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory

- (2x) Western Digital Caviar SE WD2500JB 250GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive

-SAMSUNG 16X DVD±R DVD Burner With 5X DVD-RAM Write and LightScribe

-Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS SB0350 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card

I'm sure you get these requests all the time but I would really appreciate this. Thank you!

Good parts choice on the core components.

You will, however, need to change your power supply. ASPIRE units are of poor quality, and you need a quality ATX2 spec unit for a Dual Core PCI-Express system. You might consider getting the Antec Sonata II case - it comes with a quality 450w power supply.

No need to get DDR500 for a socket 939 AMD system, DDR 400 is the correct match.

Go for SATA, not IDE hard drives, much newer technology, with smaller cables that improve case airflow. Go for the Western Digital drive with 16MB of Cache.

I've had bad experiences with Samsung optical drives - noisy and unreliable. Get a Lite-on

Why not try the on-board sound before spending the extra on a soundcard? The A8N5X has quality surround sound, that is plenty for non-audiophiles.

Don't forget the OS. Win XP Home OEM is about $90 on Newegg. I agree with Freakitchen with everything else. After that, you've got a pretty good rig there.
