So the computer is up and running and it's super fast. I'm just curious, my Hard Drive's LEDs aren't turning on or lighting up. The HD seems to be working though. I installed windows XP and all and a wireless PCI card and they both work great. How do i get the lights to light up. I cant beleive they would come burn out or bad in the case. It's brand new!
Could i plug my power LED (which i know works) into the HD LED spot to see if that works? Would that cause any problems. Just need a little help on how to check. Last edited by Panama Red; 07-14-2006 at 09:46 PM. |

If you're sure they are connected to the right pins, try flipping the connector around 180 degrees.

It won't hurt anything, just make sure the system is off and you ground yourself before go into the case to avoid static discharge. Also make sure you don't knock anything loose. Good luck!

Yeah, Alaron's right. If you're sure the LED is connected to the correct two pins, and it's still not lighting up, it needs to be plugged in the other way. LED's are polarized and only work one way.

Yup, needed to be flipped. Thanks guys. I thought that once you found out which way the labels went on one, the rest of the similar connectors went the same way? Not so much the case with the HDD LED i guess...idk> But hey it works now!
