cant find where to connect this cable.

Hey guys, im at the point in my first build where im connecting much of the wires from the case to the mobo, i have one distinct cable i cant figure out where to plug it in at. Its a cable from the Sonata 2 case and its labeled "1394" its a 10pin plug. The mobo im using right now is the Asus A8N5X, i was thinking about plugging this cable in COM1 port but im not sure thats where its suppose to go? Any help would be appeciated.

That is the Firewire port I believe. If your motherboard has the Firewire headers and you want to use the Firewire port then connect them according to the manual provided with the case or motherboard.

I don't think your board has Firewire, just USB. If so, you can just remove the cord or tie it out of the way.

No, the Firewire (IEEE1394) cord has to be connected to the Firewire (IEE1394) header on the motherboard. Since your board does not have one, you won't be able to make use of it so just tie it out of the way or remove it.
