Hello there, ive been working on my new pc and ive come into a problem installing the Hdd, im using the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144701 HDD and trying to install it into antec sonata 2 case. I cant seem to get it to fit? are these two pieces of hardware not comptable, im not sure if im suppos to install it into the side bays or the one front bay that slides out the front of the case?

For the Antec case you have you install them on the side bays (the 3.5" bays facing the sides of the case). I circled it for you below.

Also, if you look closely at the picture, you have the screwless HDD mounts, it is basically clips that you attach or secure with screws on the HDD first and you can simply slide the HDD in until is locks in.

Side bay, the front ones are for floppys, card readers, temp monitors etc.
The side bay trays are removable too. See Page 6 in the Manual.

ahhh ha! thank you guys very resourceful, but... does that mean i have to screw some screws into the HDD then pop it into the slide out bays? cause when i just put the HDD in the Bay its a little loose? maybe 1/4-1/2 inch of room left?

From Page 6 of the manual that I linked in my previous post.
Quote:
There are 4 internal drive bays right under the external 3.5" drive bays for hard drives. Each comes
with an individual drive tray which mounts through the open side panel of the case.
1. Squeeze the metal clips on each side of the tray and slide the tray out.
2. Mount your hard drive or other internal 3.5" device into the drive tray through the bottom
rubber grommets with the special screws provided. Note: Don't over-tighten.
Over-tightening the screws will harm the vibration and noise reducing ability of the rubber
grommets.
3. Slide and lock the tray back into the case.
4. Find a peripherial power molex connector on the power supply and connect it to the male
4-pin connector on the device.
5. Repeat the same procedure for the other devices as necessary.
Note: You can mount the drives with either the connectors facing you or away from you. If
you mount them with the connectors facing away from you (into the case) you may wish to
connect the data cables before sliding the drive into the locked position.
Note: Mounting the drives with the connectors facing you (towards the open side of the case)
may make squeezing the release clips more difficult.

Send a message via AIM to Alaron
Choose one or the other. Do NOT use both, it can damage the drive.

I would use the SATA cable since you can't use it for anything else.
