New PC Wireless Card
I am going to be building a new computer soon and am going to be using a wireless network. The wireless card is important to me so I was wondering if anyone had any advice for the best range, reception, etc. Is a pci adaptor better than and external usb adaptor? Any recommendations for a good card appreciated?

Go with a PCI adapter.
Here are a few good ones: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833127145 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833135111 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833124115 *****This two are great, I have used them in plenty of systems for my clients, and its cheap: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833338010 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833156141 *****This one as good range, but is quite expensive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833124178 |

Thanks for the suggestions. I have an older D-Link DI-514 router, not the best but it works fine for what I use it. I forgot to mention that I would also like a card the is compatable with linux, namely Fedora Core 5, not a must, but definitely appreciated.

This one looks pretty good. I have no idea about the linux compatability though. Maybe someone else can answer that.
That router (DI-514 - Wireless 2.4GHz (802.11b) Router) only has wireless b, so no need for the latest cards with wireless g and a. B is the oldest of the three standards, g is second oldest and a is the newest.

Research Linux compatibility on Linux forums. That's the safest way. It would make sense to get a G adapter in case your router craps and you replace it with a G down the road.
