I highly suggest you don't buy off Ebay - it's a gamble at best. You could get away with the 256MB version of that video card - it'll perform about the same, and it's going to be cheaper.

Look at Corsair for the RAM. Antec is a good choice for PSU and Antec, THermaltake, Cooler master, Lian li, have good cases. Find one you like the looks of.

Try looking at Newegg.com for all your parts. What's your budget for this build? Will you need a monitor, keyboard, mouse, ect.? You will also need a copy of Windows for your OS.

EDIT: Nevermind you live in England.

Don't worry about the budget, but I can't buy the most expensive things. I have put a monitor in the first post and I'm gonna get the G15 Gaming Keyboard from Logitech. Which windows is best out of Home Edition and Professional?

Check out ATI's clearance before going off of eBay. They have some really good deals, and I thought I saw a Radeon X1800 in there.

Try using Pricegrabber, Froogle, Bizrate, or another site that find the best deal for each part.

Hitachi optical drives aren't that great. Look at Liteon, better quality and comes with the burning software. OS: XP home will be fine unless you need some specific feature of Pro (mostly networking options for business environments that you would already know you needed if you did).
Agreed about stay away from E-Bay, whole lot of scam artists selling computer parts there.

Probably will need to drop the memory down to PC2 5300/667. The mother board may not work with what you selected.

It should work fine.

Do you plan on overclocking or is this going to be stock? Because I would suggest something other then the badaxe. The Gigabyte DS3's and Asus p5wdh's have been doing really good.
I too suggest you stay away from ebay.

On just another note, optional. Just wanted to let you know.
The ram you picked will serve you really nicely. But if you can pay a lil more, these are some of the top overclocking ram right now atm for conroe. Like I said optional.
The chips inside are Micron D9's. Very famous, very very overclockable.
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...ll_Memory.html
3rd one down.G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ) (MY-013-GS)

Otherwise looking to be a great build.

Due to a slight money problem atm I won't be able to get the E6600 now, I can't get it anyway because on overclocker.co.uk it doesnt arrive until August.

Should I get a CPU that I can use for a month or two and use it as a spare later or shall I get the Conroe E6300 1.86Ghz and keep it or upgrade that at a later date?

Is there any sites that do have the E6600 now?

Well newegg, fry's and a whole bunch of site should have it tomorrow. I doubt they will be there for too long. But ya its a great idea if you wanna get a cheap chip now and upgrade later. The e6300 will still make a budget powerhouse. However if you wanna wait and get a chip now and save up for a e6600 or whatever, I would suggest a Intel Pentium D 805 or 915.

Dunno man, tough decision, your call. Either will be fine.

Ok, but will a GA-965P-DS3 work with a Pentium D?

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...Dual_Core.html

The first one (Intel Pentium 4 805 Dual Core) has a 90nm technology. I read that the Conroe has a 65nm. Is this CPU gonna work with this http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...me=GA-965P-DS3

Also the CPU has 533fsb, does that work with my memory (3rd one down) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...ll_Memory.html

Ok one the cpu support list, it lists the proccessor on the since bios version. Now Im not sure if that means itll support it out of the box or you will have to flash the bios, then again, it gives no "ok" for any of the cpu's on that list, as it should be supporting conroe, even step5's out of the box.

There should be no reason it shouldnt support that cpu. I would think it would be ok.

And the memory. Dont worry, with lower fsb proc's it should automatically downclock. Youll just end up having alotta possible bandwith, which is good..for overclocking.
And it doesnt matter what the die size is of the cpu. That just means the internal cpu die size is dfferent.

The only thing that usually limits the compatibility of the cpu is the socket, the vrm stand of the motherboard (dont worry bout this one), and the BIOS, sometimes for new cpus, you need to flash the bios. An example would be with some 975x boards and supporting conroe.

Try the on-board audio first. With a decent speaker system, the on-board is pretty good.

...from your motherboard's spec. All motherboards these days have on-board audio, most now with multi channel for surround sound.

And without wanting to labour the point - get ALL your products from overclockers.co.uk. Their service and RMA support is top notch, which cannot be said for ebay vendors. Paying for delivery on each ebay item isn't remotely cost effective either.
