Unhappy No POST

Hi all,

I upgraded my mobo, CPU, Ram, and PSU, and it won't POST. I tried it outside the case according to HAL's instructions, and it worked then. I moved a screw that was in a wrong position where it could have been shorting out the mobo, and installed everything back in. Now it won't POST again. Help!

Take it out again and check again for a misplaced standoff.

I checked that, all the standoffs are placed correctly.

I tried it out of the case once more, and it didn't work. For some reason the system won't POST with more than 3 sticks of RAM in it. All of them are fine, I checked them induvidually, but it still won't POST with 4. Works fine with 3, but I want to go dual channel with my 2GB.

You might want to check the Asus forums - I think I recall reading something about that board and 4 sticks of ram being a problem. Perhaps you should flash the latest bios?

The BIOS I have is a beta version and is newer than the one listed on the Asus website.

And yeah, looks like my memory doesn't like working with 4 sticks on this board. I'm going to look for a workaround.

Try an older version...beta doesn't mean always stable or perfect.

Like I said, my memory isn't compatible. I can't POST with more than one stick of Ram. I'm going to RMA the old memory, and get something I know is compatible.

You can't go wrong with the QVL.
