Building an AM2 computer
Im hoping to build a new computer, it will be my second computer that i have built.
I decided, to build an AM2 because of amd's price cuts. Ill be overclocking and playing games as well as some other stuff. Heres my list: Case http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=15126 CPU http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=18462 Mobo http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=18545 Memory http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=18580 Video Card http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=18883 Hard drive http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=18409 optical http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=17413 PSU http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=13609 or http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...Z%20Technology heatsink http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=18621 Not so sure about the PSU, although i have read some good things about both of them the OCZ PowerStream 520W seems to have a better rep. if you happen to see incompatability between the parts just post and let me know.(keep in mind im canadian, so i cant buy anything from the egg )

You can probably get away with the RAM with 5-5-5-15 timings. But I haven't seen any benchmarks showing whether timings affect performance on AM2 - having DDR2-800 sure does, but haven't heard anything on timings.
Your second PSU looks like a BTX one, so that wouldn't work. Also, not sure if the first one is SLI certified or not. This would be a good choice. http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...ufacture=ANTEC Speaking of SLI - kinda silly to get an SLI board if you are using a ATI graphics card. Can't run dual ATI's on a SLI board. I'd either drop the SLI board for a single slot one or switch to a nVidia card.

I definately opt for the powerstream, it will annihalate the TP2550w anyday. Not to mention better build quality. Better rail regulation, better capacitors etc etc..
Otherwise everything looks great. Enjoy the build bud.

I think Im going to go with the powerstream, im sure that the powerstream can fit in an ATX case. As for going with this motherboard, from what i have read the M2N32 is a great overclocker it just happens to be an SLI board. Thanks for the comments, further comments and advice are also welcome.

Throw a floppy drive on your list. It might be needed during setup. If not you will probably need it later on to run diagnostics when overclocking messes something up.
I don't know whether that BenQ burner comes with burning software or not. Liteon's come with Nero and PowerDVD. Don't forget about the Operating System.

I have a few floppy drives around the house. As for the BenQ burner, im sure it comes with Nero 6.6.0.14 and Lightscribe. Forgot about adding the OS to that list:

Are either of those PSU SLI-Certified? I can't see if they even have 2 PCI-E 6 pin power connectors.
Do you need the extra features of XP Pro? |

Sli ready version is. Powerstream even though not certified will definately outperform and out rail the tp2. These things have been even running crossfire. And for overclocking, these are some of the best unless you wanna go Silverstone ST52ZF or PC P&C Silencer or a zippy server psu for single 12v rails. Those adjustable rails come in handy too. When you need that extra juice.
