First off don't be so sure it's not the power supply a cheap and nasty can go bye bye in a heart beat.
We will need a complete list of your parts including makes and model numbers to be able to help you.

What kind of PSU are you running. Just because its a new PSU doesn't mean that it isn't a bad or faulty one.
Also what are your system temps? |

Open up the case and see what brand is the PSU. Generic ones can be bad news, everything else in your system is of good quality, so having a good PSU is important.

L & C
Though the thing about the power supply is i sent my case back because thats what i thought the original problem was. New egg sent me back a brand new case. also the fan in it is spinning would that show that that is not the problem Last edited by Dickyd39; 07-26-2006 at 07:44 PM. |

The fact that the fan is spinning does not mean that the PSU is working properly or capable of running the rest of your computer dependably.
L & C is a known bad brand and the first psu may have went and taken something else with it. Do you have a link to the case and psu so that someone can check whether it even meets the specs for the rest of the hardware?

That PSU is a piece of junk - L&C is one of the worst out there...it's pretty weak too, I don't think it's even the right spec for this build. Heck, I have a 350W that's more powerful than that (looking at the 12V rail amperage).
A *quality* 450W PSU would be good - but that one is more like a 300 or 350W to today's standards. Here's a good one (and cheap): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104954 The 12V rail is the most important number to look at. Your current PSU has an 18A 12V rail - the one above has TWO 18A 12V rails - it's much more powerful and much more quality. I'd pick up one of those first - and hope that the cheapo PSU didn't take anything else out with it.
