Alot have been swiped up people. And some either have it and arent showing it, or others who dont have it and are giving out preorders. Remember this is release day. It might take some time for the retails to fully hit market. Just becareful. Some sites are selling oem versions, if your worried bout the heatsink, I would make sure its the retail version your buying.

I know a few retail X6800's have hit the market, but alot of the other ones are on backorder. And newegg isnt selling their obvious stock of 6800's.

I know at zipzoomfly they had the E6300's in stock. ShopBlt too. And a few other places that I wouldnt trust ordering from.

Tiger direct lied on their stock btw.

I would say wait. August 7 looks like the new deadline. It seems as though some manufacturers have it in stock, but intel wont let core 2 duos sell until the 7th. I think they want to first fully load up on them before releasing to the market.

Another cause could be people like Dell, apple and the such have got their hands around alot of the core 2 duo stock.

Intel is pumpin em out lol.

meh, I’ll probably just get the amd x2 5000+ which is only about (+/-) 8% slower than the e6600. I doubt the new Intel will have problems but there really is no need to jump on the bandwagon this early. it would probably be best to wait a year or so.

I agree - it would look bad for Intel if they kept running out of stock. I think TD was selling them (maybe) - but they probably got hollered at by Intel - or only had a few. I wouldn't have bought from them ven if they were offering the EE for $50 anyways...the folks that got them backordered there will probably get them *after* people get them from, say, Newegg, when the DO have them in stock and are shipping a week from now.

Newegg accidently let the X6800's out early, few ppl grabbed them, but they pulled it away really quick. Like a week or 2 ago.
