New comp needed for college, second build
as the topic says college starts soon and i need a comp. YOu know for doing homework, browsing the net, and FPS and WoW gaming
. Heres the specs, leme know what ya think. And leme know if something isnt compatable. Looks nice. Keep in mind the size of that case. It's pretty hefty sized so make sure you've got room for it in your living quarters.

my one concern is the monitor. I have pretty much no experience or knowledge of lcd's. Is a widescreen good for gaming?

Widescreens present a slight problem with the resolution. 1440x900 isn't usually supported in a game, but often times you can edit an ini file in the games program file. So it might not be an issue, but it does happen. Your video card can handle the resolution, no problem.
Widescreens are nice if you plan on watching movies. But if you have a TV for that, I would look at a standard LCD, with a 1280x1024 resolution.

If you can fit it in the budget, go dual core - X2 3800+.

thanks alaron, i was sceptical about that monitor anyways, ill just change to a standard.
glc - yea im going to try and get that in the budget, i was already thinking about it, but itll probually just have to come later when i upgrade. |
