I am doing my first build and I am stuck.... I have a Raidmax Mustang case and an ASRock mobo AM@NF4G. Problem is the case comes with no manual and it is not available online, and I have gotten all of the wires but one connected to the mobo. I believe the wire I am left with is the front LED Thermometer wire, but I have no idea where on the mobo this should go. It looks as if it has a two pin jumper plug, I thought maybe it could go to the chasis fan plug but the plugs won't match up. Please help, as I have yet to find a similar case that has the same type of plug in for the LED thermometer.

You need a addon temperature sensor to use that thermometer. I'd just tie it off and forget about it unless the case also came with a sensor to place somewhere.

Sensor is there I would hate to have a blank LED just because there seems to be nowhere on the mother board to plug it in. I just need power for it I think.

The thermal sensor doesn't plug into the mother board. There should be a cable coming from the readout and that is where you plug in the thermal sensor(probe). Then you place the probe where ever you want depending on what you want to measure.

OK I don't think I am being clear enough. THere are three wires that come off of my LED temp display. One is white and I believe is the actual sensor, which I plan on placing on my hard drive. THe other two wires are wrapped together and have a white plug on the end, very similar to the one for the Heatsink fan, only difference is it only has two holes insted of three, only big enough to go on a jumper. That is why I am looking for a place on the mobo. I hope this makes more sense. I would think it would have to be the same for any case with an LED but not sure.

I think both are temperature sensors: one is for the CPU temps and the other one is for the case. This is how other aftermarket temperature gauges work.
The CPU sensor should be attached to CPU heatsink. Usually with some kind of thermal paste to create a better contact and more accurate reads. The case sensor should be just hung in the central area of the computer case. |

Remember, if attached to the heatsink, it will report temps of the heatsink, not the cpu. Its really hard to get exact cpu core temps without going to extremes.
