And include your system specs by brand/model including power supply.

Raidmax is not a good PSU manufacturer. I would swap it out when I get the chance for a good PSU. Here is a list of good and bad brand to watch out for: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=131195

Do you have the 20-pin main connector and the 4-pin ATX12V square connector from the PSU hooked up to the motherboard?

Make sure there is nothing shorting out the motherboard such as loose screws, unused motherboard standoffs, loose power cables, and the like.

Also double check and make sure the BIOS jumper on the motherboard is NOT set in the clear position.

Also double check the back of the PSU and make sure it is set to 115v instead of 230v.

Is your processor installed correctly and the heatsink/fan securely attached to the motherboard and making good contact with the CPU?

***Also is it me, or does it seem many people are having the same problems lately?

Your welcome.

Also have you tried the out of case build procedure like blue60007 suggested?

Also, people have suggested you install the heatsink/fan onto the motherboard OUTSIDE of the case so you can make sure it is snapped in all the way.

You could also POWER ON the system and let it run for a while (10-15 minutes or so). Turn it off and TOUCH the heatsink. If it is not warm to the touch then you have a DEAD MOTHERBOARD or PROCESSOR.

If your system fails to even post, it is usually a PSU, motherboard, or CPU related issue.

i tried your method and the heatsink wasnt warm, but the northbridge cooler on my motherboard was. im guessing that the cpu is bad so i can send it back to newegg to get another oem. thanks for the help

Either your CPU is bad or you didn't install the heatsink properly.

So basically it comes down the to the CPU or motherboard. So just swap them out one at a time and see which component is defective.

Well... let us know how everything works out.
