First time builder
Hi all, I have been reading the forums for a while and have just finshed my first build
Foxconn 51xem2aa AMD 4600 AM2 2 gig corsair pro hiper 580 psu wd 150k 10k rpm seagate perpendicular 320 geforce 7900 gt dvd rw drive Got everything in, but apon power up no image is comming on the screen, the monitor knows its hooked up to the vid card so I am a little confused to where the problem might be. Everything else works fine as far as I can tell Also I cant tell if the hd's or cd rom are getting power either. Thanks for any help! |

Follow the steps in this thread, and post back with the results.
http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=132409 Also make sure you've connected both the 24 pin AND 4 pin auxiliary power connectors to the board. FK

Oh sure, a little embarassing...
"apparently" there is a cpu power connector seprate from the mobo, since it was 8 pins and my psu only had a 4 pin I thought it wasn't for anything. After going back and re-reading the mobo info it was clearly labled cpu power connector and then reading further down it showed where to hook the 4 pin cable up to it. Problem solved, instaling windows right now. |

That happens. Some PSUs do have an 8 pin power plug, but most do not.
