New PC
I am looking for expertise on whether this is a good build or not. I am thinking about ordering all of these components today/tomorrow, so any advice(any at all) would be great. The video card is lower quality than the rest because I am waiting for the Direct X 10 to drop a lot of money into it. Thank you
P.S. This is my first build, so please do not hesitate to tell me if I'm doing something very stupidly. i looked at all your stuff and it seems fine except you can't trust COOLMAX for the PSU. there is a list on pcmech so it might help you find another one.http://www.forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=131195
im not positive but i think you need a power supply with a 24 pin connecter cause thats what ur motherboard says but im not sure about that part. |

As dogdude says, stay away from the Coolmax, the Antec TruPower II is a recommended PSU. Here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103931
Aslo, most people seem to like the Lite-on DVD/CD burner over NEC.

dogdude: all mother boards for the lastest CPUs use the 24pin main ATX plug plug also use a 4pin plug.

Okay, I switched out the PSU for the Antec one, and I put in the Lite-on drive as well. Thank you very much for the input. Any other comments/suggestions would be appreciated.

Looks like a good list to me. I would switch to this LiteOn because it comes with Nero: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106017
My other suggestion is to save money with the X2 4800+: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103544 It is essentially giving up 200mhz and saving $450.

Haha, thanks for the suggestion, but I had actually just done that after talking with one of my friends. $450 is way too much to justify a 200MHz upgrade, thanks for bringing me to the light.
