Video card question and PC building update
Hi,
I've been keeping track of the 7900GT card for awhile and it looks like with the new version (N-584) most of the problems with it has been fixed. Is this a quality card to buy for a gaming PC? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130033 Also, after the advice all of you gave me, here is the current progress of my soon-to-be PC: 1) System Memory: Corsair twin2X2048-6400 (Bought) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145590 2) CPU: Core 2 Duo EE6600 (Not Bought) 3) CD/DVD drive: Lite-On 16X +-R DVD Burner (Not Bought) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106013 Components that I need more advice on: 1) Motherboard: a good motherboard in the $100-200 range which is compatible with all my components so far. 2) Case: Antec Sonata II (Not Bought) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129155 Should I buy a better power supply? (in the 550W+ range) If so, should I just buy a better quality case and the power supply separately? |

The Sonata power supply will handle that system fine.
I'll defer a motherboard recommendation for a C2D for now, it's too early for me to endorse one. If I *had* to build one right now, I'd probably spend the big bucks for an Asus P5W-DH and that's over $200. |
