Still Having Problems

I've finished building everything and everything works. However, about once out of every four times I turn on my computer, it would start loading Windows with that blue bar and then it would freeze and coloured strips fill up the screen. But the other times, everything works perfectly. Is it my video card?

Remove your video card and check the contacts for any sign of dirt, then reseat the card making sure it is sitting down square in the slot.
Do you have access to a spare card you can try for a few days?

Doesnt seem like a overheated video card since your just starting the computer up. Seems bad ram on your video card to me.

By the way, what drivers are you running?

I doubt its overheating, and if the video card did overheat then yes it will shut itself or throttle itself down.

I asked about the drivers because some of the 6.4's and 6.5's had problems the same problems you are specifying.

It seems to me like a faulty card.

I agree that it's doubtfull it is overheating especially as it happens before the machine starts and hasn't had time to get hot.
As regards the driver's I cannot comment, but the idea that the card is faulty was what I was going to suggest after you had checked the cleanliness of the contacts and to see if it was sitting firmly in the slot.

No no no... I'm wondering if the ram will overheat after running the computer for a little while, causing the computer to restart because I was using the ozc ram before and it would start having random reboots. But, if I used another stick of ram, it doesn't happen anymore.

No ram, especially ddr2 ram does not overheat. You will have to try very very hard to make it overheat.

On the ocz ram. Im thinking thats probally because you didnt stick to asus qvl, or you have dead sticks.

I got the ram to work a few times, but most of the time it just keeps on restarting.

Test the RAM with Memtest86+...faulty RAM can cause random reboots.

I finally got it working, but I had to use this other stick of slower 512mb ram to make it work though. I don't know how that worked, but EVERYTHING works perfectly now. Thanks everyone.

I can't find anywhere to set my speed, only the voltage. The 512mb ram I used is 533mhz though.
