Where exactly in the bios do I check the CPU temperature after I build a computer?

There might be in the BIOS a menu called "PC Health Status"
Please let us know the manufactuer of the board and the manufactuer of the BIOS. In turn we can give you a more precise answer. |

OK, I remembered you were looking at the C2D's, but wasn't sure. Once you get it up and running, you might try this little program:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=103638 It's supposed to be pretty darn accurate since it's reading the internal digital sensor embedded in the CPU. Only supports Core, Core 2, and AMD K8 (any of the newer ones are K8). I just used it on a Core Duo laptop, and thought it was pretty neat. |

K8 are Athlon 64's (X2's, etc). It's just the name of the architechture AMD has used for the past few years. I think Socket 754 is when it came about. I'm not sure if all 754's are, but 939 and AM2 are.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...03.E2.80.93.29 That K6-2, is well, the K6 architechture. Last edited by blue60007; 08-15-2006 at 12:26 AM. |
