Boom New build CPU problems?

Hello, thanks to all of your help I've just finished my first build. It all works perfectly. . . or so I thought. I decided to run PC Mark 06 on the new system and it got some terrible framerates on the processor (CPU) tests - I'm talking 0-2 FPS. Is that normal? Here's some specs:

Processor - Athlon 64 x2 4200
Motherboard - Asus A8N32 SLI Deluxe
Memory - 2 GB GSkill DDR 400 PC 3200
PSU - 550W Antec Truepower 2
GPU - eVGA GeForce 7600 GT 256MB

I'm pretty worried about it. The 7600GT performed about as well as I expected it to, but the processor really performed badly.

Does anyone have any input on this?

If your computer is running like it should, don't worry about it. Benchmarks results are artificial, not real world results. Use your computer normally and if it does what you need it to do then all is well.

I'm not as familiar with PCMark, but I would imagine it works similarly to 3DMark since they are both from the same company.

Anyway, the low FPS in the CPU test is normal. This is just showing that the CPU cannot handle complex 3d rendering on its own, and it needs to use the graphics card for that kind of work. So as long as your graphics card is putting up strong framerates in graphics test, everything is fine.

I think you meant 3DMark06 - there is no PCMark 06 (I believe 05 is the latest version).

Yeah, you won't get fast framerates on ANY processor. Heck, if you're getting 2 fps, that's pretty good.
