Unhappy New PC build BSOD - Nvidia related

Hi all.

I recently built a pc for my brother and he's starting to come across a lot of BSODs while gaming. More specifically, he's mainly getting the NV4_disp.dll error. Googling around, this seems like it affects A LOT of people with Nvidia cards. I ran a memory test for about four hours total last night, so I've pretty much ruled out the RAM as being problematic.

Here are the main components:

ASUS M2N-E Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 Ultra MCP ATX AMD Motherboard
eVGA 256-P2-N564-AX Geforce 7900GT KO 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card
Thermaltake TR2 W0070 ATX 430W Power Supply
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Windsor 2000MHz HT Socket AM2 Dual Core Processor
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

Now, I'm just now coming to find out that my PSU appears to be too weak for the video card (I know, stupid me for not checking). It's 430 watts and it needs 450 watts minimum according to the box. It also suggests 22a on the 12v, current is max of 18a. Is the PSU probably the problem here?

I just want to get this taken care of. I'll probably end up replacing the Nvidia card with an ATI if it's not easily solvable.

EDIT - I replaced the PSU with an Antec 500 watt smartpower. The 12v amperage is split between two rails (+12V1@17A, +12V2@19A). Should this matter? It still BSODs

Off Topic: Wow. According to my sig, I really haven't been here in a while.

Try upgrading the driver on that card. By the way, I believe the 7900gt was having some problems earlier.

Reinstalled windows and updated to the latest nvidia drivers the other day.

I've heard about this particular model of video card being faulty, but problems only being artifacting. I guess I could RMA it and hope for the best.

This seems to be a huge problem that could be anything, though. It has its own dedicated forum relating to the problem.

Yeah Ive had all kinds of random problems with my 7600 GT freezing and stuff, and I got that one error once. I think you should just RMA the card. Thats what im doing with mine.
