CMOS Checksum Error
I just got my new PC all connected and I get this errror. CMOS Checksum Error - Defaults Loaded.
I didn't know if I should just continue and install Windows or figure out what is causing it first. MotherBoard: Asus A8N5X CPU: AMD X2 3800+ Video Card: GeForce 7600 GT Power Supply: Antec SmartPower 2.0 450w (Came with Sonata II) RAM: Corsair Value Select 512x2 HDD: Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB Optical: Lite-On Everything else seems to be working fine as far as I can tell. |

Chack the clear cmos jumper on the motherboard to see if it is indeed in the normal position, if it isn't, put it there. If it is then your cmos battery may be dead, and I would tend to that first before loading windows.

Reboot and see if the mesaage still appears. If not, then you are okay.
Otherwise like ktkendall said, you need a new CMOS battery. |

I went into BIOS and hit the Default Settings option and exited and the error is gone now. Been trying to figure out what the problem might be for 30mins and its so simple as always.

That happens sometimes on the very first post for new builds.
