CompWontStart

well another problem has arised while building my computer, i had everything ready to boot and when i turned it on it would go on for a split second then everything would go back off, the fans, heatsink everything went on then off in an instant, i bought a new psu, cause i thought that was the problem and i also kinda needa a new psu, when i started it up with this psu, same thing...i tried the outta box build and same thing, the mobo is new, everything is new except HDD and CD-rom but i kno those arent the problem, im 90% sure the problem is the mobo since both psus didnt work correctly on it, will i have to rma it?

Are you absolutely sure you have the processor, and especially the heat sink fan in correctly?? That is the most likely problem if the motherboard itself is not defective.

What are your system specifications (brand and model of each component)?

Do you have both the 24-pin main PSU connector and the 4-pin square ATX12V connector hooked up to the motherboard?

Did you try reseating your memory and video card?

Sounds like you have all the other bases covered. You may have a faulty motherboard or processor.

Try leaving one stick of memory in at a time and see if it will boot.

You are also sure that you have the CPU installed right and the heatsink mounted securely right?

If you already tried the above, I would RMA the motherboard and see if the new MOBO will fix your problem.

yea i kno its all in, its like the psu is only powered for the 1st instant, on the last psu i used i wiggled the 24pin connector and it would keep flucuating, so i think its a connectivity issue with the 24pin adapter

Its time to RMA the board probably.

Oh this may sound silly, but have you tried a different power cord?
