Modding PWD-SW and PWR/HDD LEDS
Yo everyone. I recently made a build using an old case, and the little board that has the Power button, HDD LED, and Power LED had a mobo connector all in one that didn't fit my motherboard. I stripped away the old plastic covering so that I might be able to recylce the thing to use in my new PC. There's a picture below for much needed simplicity's sake. What I want to know is where which wires go. It is apparent that some wires go to certain functions just glancing at the board, but I'm not positive. For instance, the yellow wire looks like it goes nowhere. Can anyone help me out?

Hmm... that is kind of hard to get right since the colors of the wires vary from case to case.

Yeah but I figured since one can tell where the wire go, someone could tell me which wires should go where onto the motherboard. You know, the path of the wire is traced by the yellow area on the board in the picture there, see?
Since it's hard to tell by the photo, the wires go like this: green to that path to the power switch yellow to that on with no path second from left...doesn't look like it leads anywhere orange to the left path leading to the PWR LED red to another one that seems to lead nowhere, on the lower-right corner of the J1 label brown to the long path running the bottem length of the board to the HDD LED blue to the right path leading to the PWR LED Last edited by guruboy; 08-15-2006 at 10:33 PM. |
