Thats just my opinion.

But if you need the portability of the laptop, then it would be a better choice.

Each has its own advantages and disadvantages, its like asking intel vs. amd. If your a serious gamer, dont need portabilty, and want the most bang for your buck go desktop. Otherwise get a high end laptop from dell or acer.

Looks pretty good. Onboard sound should be good enough, you don't really need another sound card.

I agree, first listen to onboard and then buy the sound card. Unless of course you get a X-Fi, cuz that just owns everything. Speaking of which, I dont suggest you get the audigy 2 zs, 2 year old technology, your better off with the xfi.

If you wanna save a few bucks, and arent worried about overclocking. I suggest the intel 965p board. Around 120 bucks at the egg.

Also if it doesnt boot up with your ide drive (when your installing windows), then you might need to invest in a sata hard drive. There are some pretty reasonable priced ones from liteon.

Some ppl couldnt boot with their 965p boards due to lack of native ide support blah blah etc..

Just fyi.
