Exclamation Computer restarting but not on purpose :(

hello,
In Feburary of this year i build a computer. It worked from the start. Its components are
Mobo: ASUS A8N-E socket 939
CPU: AMD 64 3700+ (939)
RAM: Corsair 2x512 MB Value RAM
Hard Drive: 250 GB SATA WD
Video Card: nVidia 6800GS
Optical Drive: LiteOn SHM-165H6S or BenQ DW625 lightscribe
I am using Xp home edition
I have used a d-link DWL-520 Wireless adapter since i got the computer. but due to low signal strength i decided to try a new adapter. so i tryed the trendnet TEW-443PI adapter. I installed the program before physicaly installing the card like it said to. Unthill this point my computer was fine. but when i Took out the old card and put in the new one, into the same pci slot, I acidently used a screwdriver that had become magnitnized resentlyon the screws that hold the cards inplace. i didn't realise that untill after installtion and i Tryed to turn on my computer. When i turned on my computer it started fine, it entered windows and i went onto my account. It didn't reconize the new card so i went into device manager to see if i could fix it...then my computer screen went black...and my computer restarted its self. I thought this was perhaps the computer trying to find the card but i tryed again and it couldn't find it so i turned it off. i then switched the the new card into another open PCI slot. I then turned on my computer and it started normally but still didn't find the new card. It also came up with an error report about a serious error. Since i had no internet i tryed to connet via ethernet cable. when i went to network connections i tryed to connect with the wired card...thats when my computer screen went black again and my computer restarted.
i am freash out of ideas.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thx Cikrum

I doubt if your screw driver caused this problem, what make and model is the power supply?
