Building new PC.Need help

Hi,

I am building a new pc and need some advice. I have put it all together but when i turn it on i get the following:

The Pc does not seem to be posting.
I have a casetek case and the lcd display is not working.
I get nothing showing on the monitor.

All the parts are new and as follows:

Case: casetek q-eye CS 1020-02
Motherboard: Asus P5B Deluxe
Ram: OCZ DDR2
Processor: Intel core 2 duo
Graphic card: Radeon X850 Pci.
Hard drive: Western Digital Sata
P/S: Antec smartpower 2 (500 watt).

This may sound stupid but how can the monitor talk to the Pc if the Graphic card drivers are not loaded?

Thanks in advance

Also, what exact RAM is that...I don't see the RAM on ASUS' QVL (list of RAM tested to work for sure). I'm not sure how the memory compatibility is playing out on the 965 boards, kinda early to tell. (eg, AMD's AM2 socket is really picky about the RAM)

When the computer boots (during POST, and if you go into the BIOS settings) very basic drivers are loaded (in addition to keyboard, IDE/SATA drivers, etc).
