I think most people would recomend the Asus over the ECS based on company reputation.
However, I am currently using an ECS board and am generally very happy with the quality and performance. You MAY need to look into a new PSU if you are looking to go for a high range Graphics Card

The Asus board is ATX whereas the ECS is MicroATX...what kind of case do you have / intend to buy?

lol...hello again
![]() I've looked at the two boards a bit more in depth now and... ...if you are using an ATX case and can afford the Asus board then it whips the ECS's ass in just about every way shape and form. |

I would NEVER use an ECS motherboard. They make low quality boards that are prone to failure. As tomkear2006 has shown, you can get lucky with one, but why take the chance with such an important part of your system?

The only problem I have come accross with the ECS board is that the sound was stuttery from the onboard audio...untill I realised there were newer drivers than are available on ECS website.
I think ECS are slowly trying to break into the enthusast market so they are producing some "better" quality parts than they have done in the past...hense the bad reputation. |

I would go for the ATI just on personal preference of the manufacturer.
Both are impressive pieces of hardware ![]() Anyone else have any views on that one? Last edited by AnotherMuggle; 08-23-2006 at 01:36 PM. |
