Post Build Problem
I got my build completed but have one issue that I can't figure out yet ... thought I would bring it here.....My build specs are in my signature...
1-For the most part the unit works fine but I have an issue when I load Gamespy and select BF2...it loads the server list (most of the time) .. sometime it hangs and I can't get it to respond...either way I have noticed that in task manager there is a process running called rundll32.exe and it bumps the cpu usuage up to 100%....even when I am finally able to get out of Gamespy and back to the desktop with no Gamespy running under applications this rundll32.exe file runs the cpu at 50% and will not decrease at all. In order eliminate it I have to actually reboot the system. Any one have any ideas what iis causing this. I am running XP Professional on this rig...I have a laptop with XP home and when I do the same process on it I don't even see a rundll.exe file in task manager. |

have you tried googling it? sometimes when i think theres a process that i dont think should be there i look it up on google and it comes oasite where it can tell you if its dangerous or not. Also have you tried just ending the process?
here look at this. You might also want to check some other websites ( just search it in google. ). but it looks to me like a virus, if its taking that much cpu usage... but thats my opinion. read some of these reviews. rundle hope this helps.

YES... this is exactly what your talking about. Read this and try what it says. And if t doesnt work just reload windows.
"Yes, its exactly 31.5Kb large.Viewed by Notepad its clearly, that the file has been modified - some "1337 artwork" is hidden in there. Also many "paddings" divided by an "XX" at the end of the file. I solved the problem, by booting in save mode, closing the process "RUNDLL32.EXE" and deleting the file.. untill now, it had no effect to windows. But IF, you can always copy the real rundll32.exe from your Win XP -CD. Since then, I had no more problems@browsing and starting programmes/games. " Open it with notepad; search for text "padding"; if it is ther you an unidentified object; size of dll32 worm is 31,5 to 32 kb |
