That motherboard you selected has an AGP slot, not a PCI-e slot, which not only I recommend, but you need with your video card. What is your budget, I'm sure people would be more than happy to configure something for you with a budget in mind. I'm not so sure of that motherboard either, though it is an Asus, I would shoot for an nForce 4 motherboard if you want to use a 3500+. As for the case and power supply, I'd try to fit in another power supply if you can afford it. Most cases come with bad quality power supplies.

That's a great motherboard, in fact, someone just build a budget system like that by that, Minsongo.
Here are/were his specs:http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=163341 Let me know what you think... can you give an exact budget? That will help me determine what the best parts I can get for you are, for example $600. Last edited by newbuilder14; 08-23-2006 at 10:39 PM. |

You don't need a sound card, onboard sound is just fine.
Hard Drive: $58.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148149 Memory: $104.99 - man the price on this goes up all the time! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145440 Windows XP Home Edition: $89.99 Video Card: $58.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814133154 Motherboard: $86.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131569 What is this computer going to be used for? I play Counter-Strike:Source using that video card so that's fine... maybe mild gaming? This puts you in the ~$400 range. |

Yikes! Well I'm not sure what kind of video card that game demands, but look around Newegg.com to see if you find a video card you like. You may have to up your budget a bit i you do choose a different card. Just wait a day, there are many people here that know much more than I do.
