IDE cable to Floppy drive
I'm doing a new build and have no instructions on the cable to floppy drive connection. This floppy takes the smaller of the two power plugs. (Which they may do maybe, just not that knowledgeable) The question is to which end of the connector on the floppy does the stripped end of the plug go to? It will fit either way. I think the rule was the stripped end always went toward the power supply connection. I wouldn't even install it if I didn't have a lot of stuff on floppies yet. Thanks for your attention.

Check the motherboard manual and it will show you where pin 1 is on the on-board connector.
The lined edge of the cable goes there. Now look at the back of the floppy drive. it too has pin 1 marked which is where the lined edge of the cable goes. Got it wrong? The floppy light will stay on and you'll know you have to flip the cable around. Remember the floppy is attached to the last connector on the split end.

Got it. Just below the left end pin on the horizontal wafer of the floppy drive is the number one. Thanks Pam.

Also, the floppy cable end with the weird twist goes to the floppy drive.
