Power Issue

The power button for my PC case has numerous wires coming from it. I know that these are supposed to connect to the motherboard, but I dont know in what particular order. I have no documentation for the motherboard, for it comes from a pile of spare parts. Could some please assist me?

What specific brand and model are the motherboard and case?

I have absolutely now clue for either the motherboard or case. Everything was just from spare parts.

Take a close look at the mother board in one of the corners there should be a row of pins. This will be the case connection header and on most mobos they will be silkscreened what the pins are for. Same goes for the case leads, there should be some writing on the connectors as to what they do: HD LED/PWR LED/PWR/SPKR/RST.

On those row of pins, does it matter where I put the connectors?

Yes. Can you please look at the mobo for any kind of name or numbers so we can identify it and find a manual you can look at.
